This evening at approximately 1800 hrs., United Steam Fire Engine Company, No. 3 will be placing into service a brand new Pierce Enforcer. The unit will be designated as Engine 31. A Cummins L9 450 hp engine, accompanied by Allison’s 5th gen, 3000 EVS P transmission, will power Engine 31. Engine 31 has a New York style 750-gallon water tank utilizing a Waterous 1500 gpm pump. Engine 31 will accommodate four firefighters, a driver and officer. The Operational and Administrative officers would like to thank the hard work and innumerable hours spent by both volunteer and career personnel to ensure that Engine 31 meets Frederick County’s pumper standards.
