Wanted to thank you all for putting on the 3rd annual Crab Feast yesterday. Food was great. All the games and donated prizes show how hard you work to get ready for this event.

You wonderful guys saved my life three times. I know you don't know me but I really do want to let you know that I love you ALL and pray for you daily. I am the mother of 11; grandmother of 15; and great-grandmother of 6. If you guys hadn't entered my life, I wouldn't know half of them! I know that some day you will be taking me on my last trip and I couldn't be prouder knowing that it WILL BE YOU GUYS!

By he way, you also transported my husband, Bruce when he tripped and fell down our bedroom seps (15). He also, wouldn't be alive without you.

Great site guys. Just stopping by to say hi! I am a firefighter myself for 16 yrs. I also own a graphics business. I do vinyl decals, can koozies, etc. I have tons of firefighter graphics that i ship all over the country.

Just want to let the United Fire Company know how very sad it is that the black drape was NOT hung for a life member who passed away this pass week Melvin Danner. This is very unrespectable to his friends and family.Melvin was very active with the company and all their activities and you couldn't even hang the black drape in honor of him.

Mr. Melvin F. Danner, 63, of Frederick, died Friday, May 29, 2009, at his home in Frederick. He was the husband of Mrs. Virginia Kuster Danner.
Born April 4, 1946, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Harry F. and Helen Danner Reedy. Mr. Danner was a lifelong resident of Frederick. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, and after returning home Mr. Danner worked as an electrical engineer in the Frederick area until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion Francis Scott Key Post 11 of Frederick, a life member of the United Steam Fire Engine Company #3 and was very active with the EMS side and all fundraising events for the fire company. He coowned Mid-State Catering with longtime friend Mick Mastrino. They both were household fixtures at the Frederick County Fair every year.
Mr. Danner aditionally was a member of the Frederick County Builders Association and the past president of the Professional Remodelers Organization.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Danner is survived by his daughter, Laura Danner Dennis and husband, Michael, of Frederick; his son, Matthew Danner and fiancée, Diane Sikes, of Frederick; stepdaughter, Denise DeLaRosa of Laguna Beach, Calif.; and his grandchildren, Sean, Rebecca and Marley Dennis and Andres DeLaRosa.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the Grace Rocky Hill Lutheran Church, Woodsboro. Reverend Dorothy A. Lundgren will officiate. Inurnment to follow at Rocky Hill Cemetery adjacent to the church. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at . KeeneyBasford.com

Just a little note, Today was the first Officer Mark Bremer charity ride. Out of all 80 miles we rode only one Fire Dept even stepped outside to look not alone help and that was United Fire Co, Thanks to FF Smith and FF Wivell they assisted Frederick city Police with traffic control, as an officer of the dept we were thanked by the sponsors of the ride for our help. Thank you guys from the bottom my heart.

To United Steam Fire Engine Company #3: Although I have never been a member of your department, for over 35 years I have always felt welcome as one as I participated in drills, training classes and standbys at your station when needed. My wife Terry and I recently attended your 2009 Annual Banquet as a representative of the Independent Hose Company No.1. Like the ones that I have attended in the past this was another enjoyable banquet. We especially enjoyed seeing and having conversations with all members of your department. You have an excellent web site.

I was a short time member there back in 93-98.

Note, Im still trying to locate the 1958 oren pumper, and i have some pictures of the Grumman, The Mack After Rehab and some newspaper articles with satictics of ambulance, and rescue calls from the late 1950s!
